Waialua High School
Famous team wax program
Waialua High School riders get 20% off Famous products with the team code.
Famous supplies wax to surf clubs and teams. Every team gets its own code: 20% off surf wax, traction and apparel, shared by a coach, captain or club officer. How the program works.
The North Shore Bulldogs, the inaugural 2026 HHSAA girls surfing team champions, with a dated story of school and community resilience after flooding.
The surf program.
HHSAA names Waialua as the girls team champion at the first 2026 state event. A May 29 Hawaii Public Radio story connects that achievement with the North Shore community recovering from flooding and interrupted training. The official name is Waialua High & Intermediate School, at 67-160 Farrington Highway.
Joining & eligibility.
The school athletics page still displays a 2025-26 winter-sports notice covering physical, concussion, consent/risk forms and parent/student risk-management education. Its October conditioning date is historical and for winter sports, not a current surf tryout. The Forms & Videos page provides an official school route and education resources. Obtain the current season packet directly rather than treating the old notice as 2026-27 instructions. Current surf eligibility, grades, tryouts, selection, clearance, water-safety checks, fees, equipment, parent consent and transport need school confirmation. No enrollment, payment or student data is accepted here.
Community & support.
The May 29, 2026 HPR account describes disrupted practice after flooding, community cleanup and the meaning of returning the girls championship trophy to Waialua. It is a dated account, not a current volunteer sign-up, donation collection or guarantee of a surf-team service project.
The beach & safety.
The campus is not a surf meetup. HHSAA identifies the past May 1-2, 2026 state event at Hookipa Beach on Maui, not a current training venue. Current beach, access, transport, supervision, water skills and ocean-condition decisions must be confirmed by the authorized adult operator. No standing meetup or unsupervised practice is offered here.
Contests & results.
HHSAA confirms Waialua as the 2026 girls team state champion. Liveheats shows girls 4120 and boys 2120 points, plus separately labeled girls individual 475 and boys individual 370 rows. Individual-tagged rows are not added to team totals or treated as separate schools. Combined-table points are not official division standings.
Coaches & school ties.
May 29, 2026 Hawaii Public Radio identifies Spencer Suitt as surf coach. The school athletics page names Darnell Arceneaux in a 2025-26 notice, while its current Athletic Staff subpage exposes no staff names in the reviewed text. Current surf and athletics appointments need school confirmation; no vacancy or departure is inferred. The official school forms page shows the W-and-bulldog mark. Student identities and personal contacts are omitted.
