Famous makes custom-branded surf wax for surf shops, surf schools and camps, contests and events, wave pools, lifestyle brands and any business that wants a useful, pocket-sized piece of marketing that surfers actually keep. Every bar is the same Famous wax we sell under our own label: supreme tackiness, beady texture and a UV inhibitor, poured in California from formulas we have refined for more than 20 years with some of the best surfers on the planet. The only thing that changes is the wrapper.

Your logo, artwork and message go on the label. You pick the water temperature formulation and the scent, we handle production, and your wax ships in 3 to 4 weeks. The minimum order is 840 bars, which works out to ten cases of 84 bars each. Call it custom surf wax, private-label surf wax or white-label surf wax; at Famous they are the same program.

How private-label wax works

Choose a formulation. Cool (60 to 68°F / 15 to 20°C), warm (68 to 78°F / 20 to 26°C) or tropical (78°F+ / 26°C+). Pick the one that matches the water your customers surf most. Ask us if you need another temperature.
Choose a scent. Coconut and berry are typical options. Tell us what fits your brand and we will confirm what is available for your run.
Design the label. Use our label template and send us print-ready artwork, or have Famous design a branded label for an additional cost. You can include the Famous Surf logo on your label as a mark of quality, or leave it off entirely.
Approve, pay and ship. Once the label is approved and payment is received, production begins. Delivery is typically 3 to 4 weeks.

What we do and do not do

We brand the label, not the bar. Logos cannot be stamped into the wax itself because new moulds are extremely expensive, so all branding goes on the wrapper.
Our wax formulations are proprietary. We will tell you the wax is paraffin based and which temperature it is built for, and that is as far as the recipe goes.

No. Custom moulds are extremely expensive, so branding goes on the label rather than the bar.

Is it the same wax Famous sells at retail?

Yes. Custom orders use the same Famous formulations we have sold since 2002, made in California, with the same tackiness, beady texture and UV inhibitor.

What is the difference between private-label and white-label surf wax?

In practice, nothing. Both mean Famous makes the wax and your brand goes on the label. Some buyers say white label when the Famous name is left off the wrapper entirely and private label when it stays on as a quality mark. Famous offers both.

Can surf clubs, boardriders and school or college surf teams order custom wax?

Yes. Teams and clubs order the same way as shops: pick a formulation and scent, supply or commission a label, and meet the 840-bar minimum. Many split a run between fundraising sales and team supply.
