A Carlsbad school with an explicitly distinct recreational Surf Club and SSS competition team, with conflicting published practice days kept visible.

The surf program.

The school athletics club-sports page says Surf Club members can surf, bodyboard, watch contests and join trips, while Surf Team members also compete in SSS contests. The Sage reported a new 2025-26 season beginning September 24, 2025. Club participation and competition entry are not identical.

A January 21, 2022 school-newspaper report attributes an approximate club origin of around 2014 to its advisor. This is not an exact incorporation date or a separately verified founding date for the competitive team. Dated club history source

Joining & eligibility.

The athletics page welcomes a range of surfing experience, and the 2025-26 school newspaper report likewise welcomes all skill levels at club practices. This is published program language, not an assurance of contest selection or ocean readiness. Current eligible grades, sign-up, skill and swim checks, clearance, dues, equipment, consent and transport must be confirmed by the coach and advisor. No student enrollment is accepted here.

Community & support.

The Sage describes cheering for teammates, being in the ocean with school friends and encouraging students who are new to surf competition. Those are dated accounts of the club culture, not guaranteed experiences or verified current performance. Student identities and personal contact information are omitted.

The beach & safety.

The athletics page lists Thursday 3:30-5pm at Dips Surf Spot in Carlsbad and a mid-October-April season. The 2025-26 newspaper report instead describes Wednesdays at 3:30pm at Dip in the Road Beach. These published schedules conflict; neither is promoted as the current meetup. Present day, beach meeting point, transport, supervision and water-safety decisions require operator confirmation.

Contests & results.

The 2025-26 SSS San Diego Division 2 table records Sage Creek winning 58-18 against Torrey Pines and losing its final listed matchup 61-30 to San Dieguito. Its final overall record is 1-4, distinct from stronger records in individual disciplines. Older newspaper claims of past first-or-second finishes are not adopted as a current ranking.

Coaches & school ties.

The school athletics page lists Jeremy Cannon as surf team coach and Analia Loevenguth as surf club advisor. The 2025-26 newspaper story also names Cannon as head coach. These are public adult role sources checked October 3, 2026, with current assignments and scheduling still to reconfirm. The official Bobcats school seal is used, not a surf-team endorsement.
