The surf program.
The official Surfing department page distinguishes Surf Club, which competes in the Scholastic Surf Series, from the second-period Surf Class. The 2025-26 SSS LA-Santa Barbara table lists Palisades in team matchups. A class place does not automatically mean club membership or competition selection.
Joining & eligibility.
The official page says students must talk with the surf class instructor before the semester begins to enter that class. That is the class route, not the competitive club policy. Current class availability and prerequisites should be reconfirmed separately.
Community & support.
The official school department gives a clear distinction between educational surf class and competitive Surf Club. It does not establish current surf-specific mentoring, charity, beach stewardship, equipment support or fundraising in the content used here. School branding and school activity listings do not create a Famous partnership.
The beach & safety.
The school page publishes its Bowdoin Street address in Pacific Palisades, not a practice beach. A historical county beach-use proposal for surf classes is not adopted as the clubs present meetup. Current club home break, authorized meeting point, transport, parking, access, adult supervision, water-quality checks and conditions decisions: confirm with the correct operator. Campus and class locations are not silently substituted for club practice.
Contests & results.
The 2025-26 SSS LA-Santa Barbara table records Palisades ending with a 2-3 overall record, including a final 37-25 win over Cate. Its overall team record differs from individual discipline records and is identified separately. These are dated results, not a present ranking or class attendance record.
Coaches & school ties.
The official department names James Buckman and Randy Tenan-Snow as Surf Club head coaches. Ray Marsden is separately listed as the second-period class instructor, explicitly not Surf Club. These are public adult school-published roles checked October 3, 2026; current appointments and enrollment should be reconfirmed. The school seal is official, not a surf endorsement.
