A Santa Monica school surf program with dated coastal-service reporting and SSS LA-Santa Barbara participation. This is not the separate Orange County school.

The surf program.

The official Surf page describes fall/winter surfing with levels marked All Welcome and a Scholastic Surf Series league affiliation. It also retains a 2023-24 roster and an older coach quotation, while its coach list names a different head coach. Those mixed dates are kept visible rather than merged into a current roster. The 2025-26 athletics roster page has a heading but no names in the fetched table.

Joining & eligibility.

All Welcome is published program wording, not a guarantee of competition selection or eligibility for people outside the school. SurfersWhoServe is described as open to interested Pacifica students, but service participation is not the same as surf-team entry. Current grades, sign-up, tryouts, skill and swim checks, clearance, fees, equipment, consent and transport: reconfirm with the school and current coach.

Community & support.

The school reported on August 5, 2025 that SurfersWhoServe and its surf team advocated at Santa Monica City Council for cleaner beaches and safer waters. A January 18, 2026 school story describes a December holiday service trip to Casa Hogar Sion in Tijuana, in partnership with Calvary Christian School. These are dated school accounts, not a current trip or recurring promise.

The beach & safety.

The official Surf page lists training at Venice Pier and El Porto Beach. This is published program context, not real-time water-quality clearance or an invitation to an unsupervised session. The August 2025 school story discusses ocean-water concerns following the Palisades Fire. Current approved beach, meetup, transport, access, adult supervision and water-safety decisions must come from the program operator.

Contests & results.

The 2025-26 SSS LA-Santa Barbara sheet records Pacifica Christian finishing with a 3-2 overall record, including a final 54-12 win over Oaks Christian. This is dated team evidence, not a current ranking or student roster. The official Surf page retains older information and an empty displayed calendar month, so no next fixture is invented.

Coaches & school ties.

The official Surf page coach list names Dylan Sohngen as Head Surf Coach, and its August 2025 school story names him in that role. The same Surf page retains a Jake McNulty coach quotation alongside a 2023-24 roster. Dylan is presented as the school-listed role, with present season confirmation still required; the older quote is not treated as a second current head coach.
