The surf program.
The official Upper School Surf Club page lists varsity surfing and the Scholastic Surf Series. Its main event panel has no events to display, while the separate calendar retains dates from October 2024 through March 2025. The 2025-26 SSS Division 5 sheet gives later team competition evidence. These are different dated sources, not a current fixture list.
The school newspaper reported on May 11, 2022 that the surf club began in 2007 and later developed a competitive team. It reported six members in 2008-09 and 30 club members, ten of them competitors, in 2022. These are historical counts, not a current roster. Dated club history source
Joining & eligibility.
The program is listed under Upper School Athletics. School-wide athletics guidance supports sport development and participation, but the surf page does not supply a complete current entry policy. A varsity label does not guarantee a place or establish a beginner program.
Community & support.
The school describes athletic development and options for multi-sport participation. These are general educational goals, not proof of surf-specific charity, beach stewardship, mentoring, equipment assistance or a fundraising allocation.
The beach & safety.
The schools older 2024-25 surf calendar lists Mission Beach, Avalanche in Ocean Beach, Oceanside Harbor South Jetty and Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad as contest sites. Those historical venues are not a current practice route. Present home break, authorized meetup, transport, parking, beach access, supervision, weather decisions and water-safety plan: confirm with the coaches.
Contests & results.
The 2025-26 SSS Division 5 table records Pacific Ridge defeating Francis Parker 49-12 and later losing 48-45 to High Tech. The final overall record is two wins, two losses and a tie; discipline records are not substituted for it. The older school calendar and empty current panel are not treated as new fixtures.
Coaches & school ties.
The official Surf Club page names Jamie Kelso as head coach and Jennifer Pashkow as assistant coach. These are public adult school-published roles checked October 3, 2026, not a confirmed current event assignment. Reconfirm the season and enrollment route before use. Student identities are omitted.
