Famous team wax program
Ocean City High School riders get 20% off Famous products with the team code.
Famous supplies wax to surf clubs and teams. Every team gets its own code: 20% off surf wax, traction and apparel, shared by a coach, captain or club officer. How the program works.
New Jersey's Red Raiders, with a long surf-competition history, a documented 2023 state title and a 2026 school-board discussion about national-event travel.
The surf program.
November 2023 reporting records Ocean City's 24 th NSSA state surf title and traces its first title to 1988. This is dated competition history, not an exact founding date or present title claim. March 2026 reporting documents a school-board request for travel absences connected to a California national championship. It does not prove that permission was granted or the team later competed. The campus is 501 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, New Jersey.
Joining & eligibility.
The official high-school athletics page reviewed here displays the school shell and address without a surf-specific signup or clearance packet. District athletics and forms links exist but did not expose usable surf instructions in the reviewed content. No open tryout or guaranteed place is claimed. Contact the current school athletics operator for the correct season route. Current surf grades, eligibility, tryouts, selection, clearance, ocean safety, fees, equipment, parent consent and transport need confirmation from the school or authorized operator. No enrollment, payment or student data is accepted here.
Community & support.
March 27,2026 Ocean City Sentinel reporting records families and surfers advocating at a school-board meeting for extra travel and preparation time. It describes a request and support, not a confirmed attendance-policy exception, current fundraiser or approved trip.
The beach & safety.
The campus is not a surf meetup. Event entries do not establish a current practice beach, approved access or supervision. The authorized adult operator must confirm the current beach, transport, consent, water skills, weather and ocean-condition decisions. No unsupervised session or standing meetup is offered here.
Contests & results.
November 2023 reporting records the NSSA state surf title with 108 points versus Manasquan 92, a past event score. The 2025 NSSA Northeast entry list separately carries school affiliation. March 2026 reporting covers a planned national-event trip, not a completed national result or title.
Coaches & school ties.
The 2023 title report identifies Nate Garza as coach and says he succeeded Mark Miedema. That dated account is not a verified 2026-27 appointment. The current school athletics page did not expose surf staff in the reviewed content. The Red Raiders mark comes from the official high-school homepage. Student identities and personal contacts are omitted.
Sources & open questions.
