Famous team wax program
Malibu Surfing Association members get 20% off Famous products with the club code.
Famous supplies wax to surf clubs and teams. Every team gets its own code: 20% off surf wax, traction and apparel, shared by a coach, captain or club officer. How the program works.
Malibu, California / United States
A Malibu surf club preserving longboard traditions, local history and a coastal community across generations.
The club story.
The official history credits eight founders: Butch Linden, John Ward, Jerry Whitesides, Frank Maxwell, Bob Barada, Nolan Brewer, Jim Gale and Steve Perrin. Linden was first president and Barada vice president. The club adopted a charter in February 1962, later welcomed women members and revived in 1977 after a dormant period. Its founding year is published as 1961.
Membership & community.
The club welcomes membership inquiries through its contact page and describes monthly meetings, member and prospect beach activities and intra-club contests for all ages. Those contests help choose club representatives. The early historic cap of 200 is not a current limit.
The official mission supports a clean, safe and healthy coastal environment alongside surf activities and fellowship. It describes a multigenerational beach community and meetings with local surf history.
