Malibu Boardriders Club
Famous team wax program
Malibu Boardriders Club members get 20% off Famous products with the club code.
Famous supplies wax to surf clubs and teams. Every team gets its own code: 20% off surf wax, traction and apparel, shared by a coach, captain or club officer. How the program works.
Malibu, California / United States
A Malibu nonprofit whose history combines club competition, community beach days and women's longboarding at First Point.
The club story.
The club says a group of Malibu surfers founded MBC in early 1991. It participated in the Coalition of Surfing Clubs and hosted Call To The Wall at Malibu Surfrider Beach. After a pandemic pause, a 2021 event combined Day At The Beach with shortboard competition. In 2022 the club introduced Queen Of The Point, an all-women longboard competition at First Point Malibu.
Membership & community.
The official history notes declining volunteer and member participation around the event changes, but does not establish today's membership total or enrollment rules.
Day At The Beach was held at Leo Carrillo State Beach in collaboration with Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, providing beach and surf experiences for children with cancer and their families. This is a historical partnership, not a claim of an active current agreement. The club identifies itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
The beach & break.
First Point / Malibu Surfrider Beach; Leo Carrillo
The club documents First Point as the location for Queen Of The Point, Surfrider Beach for Call To The Wall, and Leo Carrillo for its historical community beach days. California State Parks describes Malibu Lagoon beach access and Leo Carrillo's 1.5-mile coastline with reefs and tide pools. A documented event location is not a private club home break.
Region: Malibu, California. Use the park source for public access details rather than treating a beach as a club office.
