A school-listed Surf club with a published adult coach and 2025-26 high-school league evidence. Its separate middle-school enrichment course is not the high-school entry policy.

The surf program.

The official Meet the Coaches page lists Surf as a club, and the faculty directory identifies an Upper School science educator as surf coach. The 2025-26 SSS Division 5 sheet lists La Jolla Country Day, including a misspelled Contry variant in some rows. Those rows remain one school record. A separate spring 2026 Middle School Surf Club course is kept distinct.

Joining & eligibility.

The spring 2026 enrichment course is specifically for grades 6-8 and describes a beginner-friendly program. Its dates, fee and equipment rules are not adopted as high-school competition-team policy. Joining a middle-school course does not establish a place on the high-school squad.

Community & support.

The middle-school course describes confidence, resilience, ocean awareness and positive surf culture. Those are that courses goals, not evidence of a present high-school service project. The two age-group programs are not merged to imply a larger team.

The beach & safety.

The spring 2026 middle-school course describes sessions at La Jolla Shores with direct beach drop-off and pickup. That venue is not verified as the upper-school competition teams present practice beach. The school is at 9490 Genesee Avenue, La Jolla, in its athletics source. Current upper-school meetup, transport, supervision, access and water-safety plan: confirm with the coach.

Contests & results.

The 2025-26 SSS Division 5 table lists La Jolla Country Day in team matchups, including a 24-20 result against Army Navy and a later bye. A bye is not promoted as a surfed contest victory. No current ranking or individual student result is reproduced. The spring 2026 middle-school course calendar is not this teams competition calendar.

The official coach page lists Chris Uyeda under Surf (club), and the school faculty directory identifies him as an Upper School science educator and surf coach. These are public adult school-published roles checked October 3, 2026, not a verified present competition roster. The approved current enrollment route should be reconfirmed.
