The surf program.

The official school hosts a Waverider Surf Team video credited to its Ocean Education Dive Club. Its automatic transcript is visibly garbled, including the school name and adult introduction, so it is not treated as an exact coach identity or present schedule. The school footer verifies its Kailua-Kona campus, and Liveheats separately records boys and girls in May 2026.

Joining & eligibility.

The school-linked athletics page states 2026-27 registration is open and requires the athletic packet to be submitted to the trainer before participation. It describes baseline testing every two years. These general requirements do not establish surf selection or an open surf tryout. The older video says this is not a learn-to-surf program, but present surf experience standards must be reconfirmed. Current eligibility, grades, sign-up dates, competition selection, swimming checks, clearance, fees, equipment, consent and transport must be confirmed with the authorized adult operator. The official video ties the team notice to Ocean Education Dive Club. This is specific school context, not proof of an active cleanup, charity partner, mentoring project or equipment fund. The beach & safety.

The older video transcript mentions Pine Trees and Tuesday/Thursday practices, but with no reliable current year and transcription errors. Those are not presented as todays meetup. HHSAA puts the May 2026 state event at Hookipa Beach on Maui. Present beach, schedule, access, transport, supervision and conditions decisions require the authorized school operator.

Contests & results.

Liveheats lists Kealakehe HS Girls (BIIF) with 1,703 points and Boys (BIIF) with 1,010 at the May 1-2, 2026 event. Separate entries are not merged into an invented school total. The combined club table is not relabeled official boys or girls standings or a season ranking.

January 23, 2026 Maui Now reporting identifies Collin Shield as this school's surfing coach in coverage of the January 18 ocean-safety clinic. The video transcript does not reliably establish the introducing adults name. The current general athletics site names Stacy Jones as athletic director, which is a verification route rather than a surf-coach appointment.
