The surf program.

The official school About Athletics page lists Surfing among spring sports. April 27,2026 Garden Island reporting records a KIF championship meet at Pine Trees in Hanalei, with Kapaa winning four of six divisions and 20 club points. That is a dated meet result, not a current title or a claim that the program began in 2026.

Joining & eligibility.

The official forms page requires an athlete physical valid 365 days, student participation and parent consent/risk forms, and athletic participation acknowledgement for each sport. It also links concussion guidance. These school requirements do not settle surf-specific ocean screening or selection. Ask school athletics for the current spring surf route. Current surf grades, selection, clearance, ocean skills, fees, equipment, parent consent and transport need confirmation from the school or authorized operator. The beach & safety.

The campus is not a surf meetup. Current practice beach, permission, transport, parent consent, water skills, weather and ocean-supervision decisions require the school or authorized adult operator. A reported past event beach is not a standing invitation or current safety plan. No unsupervised session is offered here.

The 2026 HHSAA state-championship source lists this school affiliation. It establishes dated state-event representation, not a complete league membership list or full squad size. Student identities and individual results are not copied.
