Kalani High School
Famous team wax program
Kalani High School riders get 20% off Famous products with the team code.
Famous supplies wax to surf clubs and teams. Every team gets its own code: 20% off surf wax, traction and apparel, shared by a coach, captain or club officer. How the program works.
A Honolulu school with separate boys and girls varsity surf pages, an explicit prior-experience safety standard and two OIA state-event entries.
The surf program.
The school athletics pages describe the inaugural varsity surf program competing in the OIA Surf League. Both boys and girls pages stress skill, judgment and respect for the ocean. HHSAA locates the school on Kalanianaole Highway in Honolulu. This program announcement is not a precise surf-team founding date or a current roster.
Joining & eligibility.
The official boys and girls surf pages say prior surfing experience and strong ocean-safety awareness are essential. Athletes must be confident in varied conditions, understand etiquette and prioritize safety. The athletics site links sports registration and training forms; those routes do not prove a current surf sign-up window or guarantee selection. Current school eligibility, grades, sign-up window, competitive selection, ocean checks, clearance, fees, equipment, parent consent and transport must be confirmed with the authorized adult operator. No enrollment, payment or student data is accepted here.
Community & support.
The surf pages describe teamwork, environmental stewardship and island heritage as program aims. They do not document a specific cleanup, charity partner, equipment grant, mentoring project or approved volunteer role.
The beach & safety.
The reviewed varsity pages establish ocean-safety expectations but no current home break, meeting point or practice schedule. HHSAA locates the May 2026 state event at Hookipa Beach on Maui. That contest venue is not a Honolulu practice invitation. Present beach, transport, access, supervision and conditions decisions: verify through athletics.
Contests & results.
Liveheats records Kalani HS Boys (OIA) with 2,165 points and Girls (OIA) with 1,370 at the May 1-2, 2026 state event. A separate boys-individual row is not added to the school entry. The combined table is not relabeled official boys or girls team standings, and no combined score is invented.
Coaches & school ties.
The school athletics boys and girls surf pages both list Trent Fish as head coach. The displayed image is a generic placeholder, so no invented coach portrait is used. Current appointment should be reconfirmed through school athletics. School artwork is a school mark only, not a surf-team endorsement. Student identities and personal contacts are omitted.
Sources & open questions.
Checked October 3, 2026. Public-source profile, not a school endorsement. Old seasons and results remain dated. Current operating details require the school or authorized adult program operator.
