Famous team wax program
Kaiser High School riders get 20% off Famous products with the team code.
Famous supplies wax to surf clubs and teams. Every team gets its own code: 20% off surf wax, traction and apparel, shared by a coach, captain or club officer. How the program works.
A Honolulu school with official club-launch coverage, a school-published surf safety requirement and a girls OIA state-event entry in 2026.
The surf program.
The official Henry J. Kaiser school announcement celebrates its first surf team entering competition. April 8, 2026 Cougar Connection reporting describes the inaugural OIA surf season. That student-publication story is separate from an undated official club-launch notice, so no exact team founding date is invented.
Joining & eligibility.
The school athletics page advertises February 17-18 surf tryouts at Sandys with time TBA and says Junior Lifeguards completion is mandatory. The surrounding January-February notices and April 2026 reporting are past-season context, not upcoming dates or a guaranteed present rule. Confirm the current certification and tryout process through athletics. Current school eligibility, grades, sign-up window, competitive selection, ocean checks, clearance, fees, equipment, parent consent and transport must be confirmed with the authorized adult operator. No enrollment, payment or student data is accepted here.
Community & support.
The official launch notice credits team members, advisers and supporters. The student publication describes the move into OIA competition. Neither source confirms a current surf cleanup, charity partner, mentoring role, equipment fund or open volunteer opportunity.
The beach & safety.
The school notice names Sandys for tryouts; the April 2026 student story refers to Queens in Waikiki for OIA competition. These are distinct dated activities, not a standing practice schedule. HHSAA puts the May state event at Hookipa Beach on Maui. Current beach selection, transport, access, supervision and conditions decisions: confirm through the school.
Contests & results.
Liveheats records Kaiser HS Girls (OIA) with 820 points at the May 1-2, 2026 event. That reviewed entry does not establish a boys state entry or both teams qualifying. The combined club table is not relabeled official girls team placement or a season ranking. The student story has April publication with future wording for March 30; its timing is not reused as a current fixture.
Coaches & school ties.
The official school tryout notice names Jane McCallister as assistant coach; the April student-publication story calls her Surf Team Coach without specifying the same role. The distinction is retained rather than inventing a head-coach promotion. Reconfirm current staff through athletics. School artwork is a school mark only, not a surf-team endorsement. Student identities and personal contacts are omitted.
