The surf program.
The official July 23, 2025 athletics notice announced surfing for the following spring. The current school athletics page includes surfing among spring sports. This documents a school program, not an assumed long-running competitive team. HHSAA identifies the Voyagers campus on Kaumualii Highway in Lihue.
Joining & eligibility.
The July 2025 notice says grades 9-12 need a completed high school physical to practice and join teams. That dated general athletics notice is not an open surf tryout invitation today. The school athletics office is the confirmation route. Current school eligibility, grades, sign-up window, competitive selection, ocean checks, clearance, fees, equipment, parent consent and transport must be confirmed with the authorized adult operator. No enrollment, payment or student data is accepted here.

The official athletics page describes teamwork, perseverance and sportsmanship across school sports. April 27, 2026 Garden Island reporting records Island School participation in the KIF final. These sources do not establish a surf cleanup, mentoring project, charity partner, equipment grant or open volunteer role.
The beach & safety.
The April 2026 KIF report places that meet at Pine Trees in Hanalei. HHSAA locates the May state event at Hookipa Beach on Maui. Those are dated contest sites, not a confirmed school home break or open practice. Present beach, schedule, access, transport, supervision and ocean conditions decisions: confirm through school athletics.
Contests & results.
Liveheats records Island School Girls (KIF) with 996 points and Boys (KIF) with 390 at the May 1-2, 2026 event. The April KIF report separately gives four club points at that meet; scores from different competitions are not merged. The combined Liveheats club table is not relabeled official boys or girls team placement.
Coaches & school ties.
The HHSAA Island School directory lists Mike Hubbard under surfing in both girls and boys sports. This association-listed role was checked October 3, 2026 and should be reconfirmed through school athletics, rather than assumed a new-season appointment. School artwork is a school mark only, not a surf-team endorsement. Student identities and personal contacts are omitted.
