The surf program.
The Coronado Times April 2022 report describes a return to competition after pandemic interruptions, with 27 surfers in Division 2 and five contests across fall and spring. The 2025-26 source now lists Coronado in Division 4. These differing dated divisions are preserved rather than blended into a permanent league assignment.
Joining & eligibility.
The 2022 report invited students to look for school announcements for the following season. That invitation and the 27-surfer count are historical, not a current enrollment offer or team capacity. The official school athletics page is the present school information route.
Community & support.
The local report describes the team as a family of surfers and records a season-ending celebration. It establishes community context for that season, not an active program commitment. Coronado Surfing Association has a separate surfing-seniors scholarship program; it must not be presented as guaranteed CHS team funding.
The beach & safety.
The official school page lists 650 D Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118. The April 2022 report records state-championship travel to Huntington Beach. Those are school location and historical competition destination, not a current home-break declaration. Practice beach, transport, parking, supervision and local access rules need team confirmation.
Contests & results.
The 2022 report records seven students advancing to state competition after the regular season. The 2025-26 Division 4 ratings are the latest seed listing used here. No current squad size, upcoming state berth or future contest is inferred.
Coaches & school ties.
The April 2022 report names Mike Gillard as the returning coach. That is a dated appointment, not proof he leads the team today. Student names and personal contact details from historical articles are not reproduced.
