Famous team wax program
Coachella Valley Surf Club members get 20% off Famous products with the club code.
Famous supplies wax to surf clubs and teams. Every team gets its own code: 20% off surf wax, traction and apparel, shared by a coach, captain or club officer. How the program works.
Palm Desert / Coachella Valley, California / United States
An inland surf community connecting desert families and students with surfing, coastal trips and the possibilities of wave-pool surfing.
The club story.
The official About page identifies the nonprofit club as Dave Hilts's vision and names him president. It names educator Krysten Gonda vice president and documents her Desert Mirage High School surf club, launched in 2018, as a separate youth program supported by CVSC. A March 2020 club article identifies Hilts as founder; a December 2019 event shows the club already active.
Membership & community.
The official Join Now form lists annual adult $50, under-21 $30 and family $100 membership. Published benefits include meetings, events and competitions, a T-shirt, decal, member card, newsletter and opportunity to serve as an officer; the family form specifies two shirts. Future discounts are planned, not guaranteed. The renewal page displays the same $50/$30/$100 amounts even though Join Now promises a discounted renewal fee. Confirm current renewal pricing, stock and terms with the club.
The mission is to help any child or student learn to surf regardless of finances by providing equipment and resources where possible. The official December 6, 2019 event announces 15 wetsuits and surfboards for Krysten Gonda's East Valley Board Riders students, supported by PaddleAir and sponsors. The About page describes coastal learning trips for underserved students. This is dated evidence of an education mission, not a promise of current places, donations or funding.
The beach & break.
Inland wave-pool focus / coastal learning trips
This is an inland community club, not the Palm Springs Surf Club wave-pool business. Its homepage credits pool photography to that venue, and its March 2020 article describes Oceanside learning trips. Older website language says desert wave pools are opening soon; January 2024 reporting documents Palm Springs Surf Club opening, so that old language is not a current availability claim. No membership includes pool admission unless the operator confirms it.
Official beach guideContests & events.
The official Events page says club happenings are in the works and shows the December 6, 2019 equipment presentation at Desert Mirage High School in Thermal. The homepage promises a meeting announcement without a date. Neither establishes a current 2026 meeting or contest schedule.

Athletes & heritage.
The official About page names Dave Hilts president and Krysten Gonda vice president. A 2020 club article describes Hilts's early Huntington Beach High School surf-team background and his work teaching East Valley students in Oceanside. No dated competitive roster or verified professional-athlete club membership was found.
Athlete / archive sourceSponsors.
PaddleAir appears by name and logo on the official site, and the 2019 equipment presentation credits PaddleAir and unnamed sponsors. The current sponsors page is an inquiry form, not a dated partner roster. Pool photographs and links do not prove a sponsorship agreement.
